Shortly after I posted a teaser picture to this shoot my fabulous gal pal Erika sent me a message and it said “its funny that for as long as I’ve know you you dislike the ra ra surrounding Vday…yet you produce these uhMAZING styled shoots in honor of the occasion!!” She’s right. I do hate the ra ra surrounding Valentines Day and I still think it’s a silly Hallmark holiday…I think that it’s so much more special when Chris surprises me with cupcakes and a card on any day other than Valentines day…a day where he’s doing it because he loves me…not because he’s expected to do something. BUT lets be honest I love pink. And hearts. And all things girly. In short, I love all the pretty things that come out for Valentines day and I LOVE putting together “daydream” shoots like this, so I couldn’t let this opportunity slip by! I called up three little models and begged them to pose for me….after a lot of begging (ok, not really) I had three little ladies travelling to the studio to meet me for this session. Their mom packed up their bags with lots of fun clothes, new Chuck Taylors and the prettiest cookies i’ve ever seen (yup, she made them!) and we had a party!!! Opps, I mean photoshoot, we had a photoshoot……but it sure felt like a party!
Today’s Valentines Day post is honour of the love between sisters! Whether it’s your sister by birth, or your sister from another mister don’t forget to share the love today with the fabulous girls/women in your life!
Happy Love Day!!
P.S. Don’t you just LOVE the paper heart garland?? After seeing paper garland on Pinterest I knew I HAD to have some…and when I imagined making it myself I usually imagined a disaster. Lucky for me I found this lovely little store on Etsy called Yellow Bird, Yellow Beard and Janee made me this perfect paper garland. You MUST check out her store – paper garland makes a perfect added touch for photoshoots!
At the beginning of January I met with Helga for a fun session to celebrate her turning 2! We had a grand ‘ole party with lots of streamers and balloons! Helga’s a pretty stylish little lady, she came with two pairs of shoes and pair of leg warmers that I wold have been happy to take home if they had been in my size 🙂
Enjoy!!
LOVE this shot of her dancing 🙂
All that dancing had someone ready for a rest!
Sometimes you plan a session in your mind and then it turns out completely different when it’s show time. Chantel and I brainstormed for an indoor spot for Jordyn’s four-year pictures because we were sure the beginning of January would be too friggid to be outside for any period of time. We were wrong. Chantel put her order in for the weather and a nice mild day greeted us when we arrived for the shoot! We met at The Park Cafe inside the Qualico Family Centre at the Assiniboine Park enjoyed some hot chocolate, a few pages from Pinkalicious and some photos inside. Then we bundled up and head outside for some photos of Jordyn and her sled (well actually Jack and Ruby’s sled…but don’t tell them!). The winter photos of Jordyn in her red toque and jacket are some of my favourite winter photos! I had so much fun capturing Jordyn as she explored the forrest and spied for bunnies and squirrels!
Jordyn steals my heart again and again after each shoot I have with her, this lil lady has the personality to go along with the smiles and giggles you see in these photos! Sometimes I have a hard time trying to pick which photos of Jordyn to blog because there are always so many with giggles, but there is also something so sweet and innocent about the photos of her when she’s a little bit more serious….those big brown eyes are just so perfect!
I just adore those curly pig-tails!
A little girl and her sled…
Lately i’m lovin’ pics of kids laughing so hard their eyes close!
“Look in here mom!”
“This way!!!”

One last shoot to blog from a busy September! I remember this shoot with my friends Evan, Jen and their son Torrin very well because it was soooo windy that day! But not too windy to keep us from heading out to a shoot! Sometimes those short and quick shoots turn out some of the BEST photos! This one was definitely one of those short and sweet ones, I LOVE the family shots I got and Torrin was putting on such a show for the camera…doesn’t he have the most gorgeous brown eyes and megawatt smile? Love. It.
