One quick post this morning before I get ready for another shoot! This one was rained out the first time around but it was kind of a blessing in disguise because the second evening we got for this shoot was GORGEOUS!!! Sunshine, painted leaves and not a raindrop or cloud in sight! Since the last time I saw this family they’ve added one sweet member! Dell is making his debut on the blog this morning! He was pretty relaxed during the shoot, watching people as they walked the paths behind us or trying to eat leaves 🙂 Big sister Autumn was also a treat to photograph! Crazy how from one year to the next she has changed so much…she was such a little lady and flashing me her most gorgeous big smiles.

Cailin has grown up so much since the first I had her in front of my camera years ago, I almost couldn’t believe how much she had grown over the last year when her mom sent me a picture of her the week before our shoot! She is so comfortable posing in front of the camera making my job so easy and fun!! Last year we spent a morning running through the rows of a corn field and this year we explored one of their family’s favourite parks on a perfect fall day!! The ground was covered in a blanket of leaves and Cailin was just itchin’ to get some of those leaves in her hands to throw!

Being Facebook friends with my clients allows me an extra little peek into their lives before our sessions….sometimes by looking at pictures of the activities they like doing together I’ll get an idea for a location or a theme for a session, or i’ll see things in their homes or toys that their kids have and i’ll ask them to bring them along….for this session I spied something in Melissa’s Facebook photos that I knew I would LOVE to incorporate into pictures before the session was even booked. So when Melissa booked a family session for her, Patrick, Emily and Leo I knew I had to ask about them bringing about their baby drum-set….lucky for me her Pat loved the idea. So one Sunday morning a few weeks ago we met at a parkade downtown and Patrick packed their stroller full of all the different pieces and up we went to the top floor!
I was extra excited for this session because Melissa and I go WAY back….we went to high school together in Winkler, I remember sitting beside her in grade 9 choir, painting grad decorations with her, fun Friday road trips to Morden beach during spare….really anything you did with Melissa was going to be a good time because she always brought laughter and her sense of adventure everywhere she went! Life’s adventures took her to Montreal a few years after graduating and now she’s been back in Manitoba for a while and lucky for me, she asked me to capture some photos of her sweet family! I had such a great morning with these four and am so excited to show off these rockin’ family photos! ENJOY!

Last summer this family came to visit me in Winnipeg and this year I was lucky enough to visit them on their stomping grounds just outside of Winkler. We all piled into their van to check out some spots and lucky enough to find some amazing light and greenery just a stones through away from their home! I told them don’t be surprised if they see me wandering around out here again some time in the future, it was so beautiful!
Alisha and Julia had clearly spend some time getting ready for the shoot….carefully picked wardrobe changes, guitars and glitter packed along, lots of fun!!
