A few weeks ago I went over to Dustin and Ashton’s place to meet Kingston! Ashton and I go waaaaay back – I taught her skating lessons, worked with her mom and took back-to-school pictures of her and her sisters every year back in the day. So far back that our first shoot together was back in the film days. Long time blog readers might even recognize her from really old blog posts. It’s pretty special anytime you get to photograph life events for anyone you know and this shoot was just that, so special. Dustin and Ashton were so sweet to watch with Kingston – calm, patient, soft speaking, all of their actions coming out of pure love for their new baby boy. What a gorgeous little family…parenthood looks good on these two!
Kingston stayed awake for a good portion of this shoot but after a while, he gave into sleep…maybe it was the lull of the rain and rolling thunder outside…or maybe it was the coziness of being in his dad’s arms. That was probably it 😉
Kingston is so cute…his big round eyes and the hints of red in his hair, he is sure to be a heartbreaker!

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to go and meet Molly and her parents David and Kara. They fit this shoot in between a day of Father’s Day events….what a way to commemorate David’s first Father’s Day with their very first family photos. I loved getting to shoot them in the comforts of their own home. Their home is so beautiful and you can see all the careful planning and design put into their space by Kara. It really makes the backdrop of the session unique to their family.
I felt instantly welcomed into their home, David and Kara are so friendly and kind and it was such a treat to watch them interact with Molly…..singing to her, rocking her, feeding her….these two have slipped into their role as parents and it looks so natural on them!
Little Molly….what a beauty! That red hair and those big round eyes! We got the best of both worlds with this lady some awake time and little bit of sleepy time too! I loved the details of her nursery, that adorable mobile and those lovely prints by Kal Barteski.

Say hello to little miss Charlotte! I met this sweetie, her mom and dad at Bruce Park a few weeks ago for some photos to mark her first birthday! She was such a pleasure to photograph and oh, so stylish! That denim vest? C’mon have you ever seen something as cute as that? Doesn’t Charlotte have the most gorgeous big blue eyes? I love the mother daughter images from this session – two gorgeous gals!
Charlotte’s mom came prepared to end off this session with a sweet little strawberry picnic! Charlotte wasn’t super interested in eating them but she sure liked dumping them out 😉 I loved the quilt that they brought along that was a special family heirloom, so many pretty colours that went perfectly with all the details.

I’ve known Jeremy for a really long time….since we were kiddos, so I was extra excited to go visit Jeremy, Ang and sweet little Norah, these three are one sweet little family! Norah was a superstar! She hardly made a peep the whole time I was there. Her parents relaxed and told stories of her first couple weeks at home and she must have just loved hearing the sounds of their voices because it kept her relaxed and sleeping the whole time!
I loved taking pictures in Norah’s new room! So many gorgeous details – that gorgeous baby blanket, a hand me down rocking horse and lovely natural light streaming in from all the windows.
