Last week I went over to Lee and Jill’s to meet sweet little Elaina, she just couldn’t wait to meet all the people who love her and arrived a few weeks early! When I arrived she fed just enough to put her into a deep milk coma and she stayed in dreamland for the whole shoot! What a little super star!
It was so special watching Lee and Jill as their new roles of mom and dad, I couldn’t help but smile as I watched Jill rock Elaina while quietly singing to her “stay awake, don’t rest your head, don’t lie down upon your bed”. Clearly they were made for these roles!

From the moment Kara told me she was expecting wee babe #2 over Starbucks one day last fall I was sure she was going to have a boy….well, Ellen sure proved me wrong this May! Kara and Dwayne are now the lucky parents to two sweet and adorable little girls!
I really love the “downtime” during newborn sessions…the moments mom takes to feed or snuggle babe and this session was no different except I enjoyed the downtime even more because it was spent watching my amazing friend and business partner in her role as mother. Sarah and Dwayne were outside having a swing leaving Kara and I to chat as Kara fed Ellen. I asked Kara questions about the birth and she played with Ellen’s tiny fingers and stared at her as she told me what her first ten days as mom of two were like. It’s no secret I admire Kara’s work as a photographer….I tend to gush about how lucky I am to work with her quite a bit, but I also admire her as a mother – she is so full of love for her family, so positive and so caring…..qualities that I see she has totally passed on to her daughter Sarah who was FULL of hugs when I was over 🙂
Kara and Dwayne….it was such a pleasure to spend this time with you again for baby #2! I can’t wait to watch Ellen grow and watch Sarah grow into her role as big sister! Thank-you so much for allowing me to capture these memories for you!

Say hello to Devynn. I went to meet this little sweetie a couple weeks ago and her session was a dream!! She was so relaxed! When we started the session she had her eyes open and all it took was a little white noise and soon she was yawning, stretching and getting settled into a nice long nap 🙂 To finish the session we moved to her new digs to take some pictures of her in her adorable nursery. I loved all the fabrics her mom chose for her bedding, but my favourite thing in her room was a framed print about LOVE. I love you to the moon and back. Love is all you need. Always kiss me goodnight……I don’t think Devynn’s parents will have trouble with that one….i’m sure they are showering her with kisses all day long, day after day.

You might remember these two faces from their maternity shoot early in the new year….their sweet little baby made her arrival in February and I went over to meet her not too long ago! Sweet little Lucie is charming the world with her smiles, her pretty eyes and her hair that shines red in the sun. It took a little bit of time, some feedings, a hair dryer and some TLC to get Lucie into dreamland, but once she was there she gave me all the time I needed to get some adorable shots!
How much do you LOVE her adorable beanie with the ambulance on it? So cute! And appropriate considering the job of her mom & dad 🙂 Check out Nini’s Handmades on Etsy to see all the gorgeous hats she creates!! I love so many of them!
