Well about a year ago I shot a gorgeous fall maternity session for this couple as they prepared to welcome their baby girl Brayen! Since that time I’ve had the pleasure of having this little peanut in front of my camera four times already!! We figured this fall instead of photographing a baby bump in a corn field we should photograph their family of three in a cornfield! So after some photos at their home we head out to enjoy the gorgeous morning outside!!

It turned out to be kind of a happy thing that it rained on the first date we had this shoot scheduled because it gave Darrin and Tracy time to head to Winnipeg and pick up this antique crib (that now lives in my prop stash! YAY!) before our shoot! The next day the rain stopped long enough for us to get this shoot in! The ground was kind of soggy, but that didn’t matter to us, Emily was ready for her 6(ish) month photos! This sweet little girl was SO easy to make smile, it made my job waaaaay to easy! I’m pretty sure the look on her face in some of these photos is her way of saying “why is Auntie B making those weird noises at me? She is craaaazy!” That’s ok, i’m fine with being crazy Auntie B if that’s what gets me the smiles and giggles!

This weekend we head to the farm to take some new pictures of Austyn! We set up some adorable Scout & Acadia paper garland in the trees and took some pictures in front of my favourite shed. Austyn was so interested in the paper garland it was fluttering in the wind (err, getting tangled in the wind..opps!) behind her and she loved to turn around and admire the pretty colours! So much fun colour in this shoot! Jayci brought purse full of clothes for the shoot and happily picked out a Splendid Littles romper for her first outfit…how perfect and cute does it look on that pink chair and against the rainbow coloured garland? Love it!
Austyn is such a happy little girl! Her squeals, silly faces, hand clapping! It’s so much fun watching this little one just do what she does! I love it when she smiles with that cuttle little scrunched up face!

It’s time to check back in with Brayen again, believe it or not this little lady is 6 months already!! I love shooting milestone sessions throughout the first year of a little one’s life…it so neat to see the stages, starting to find their voice, learning to sit, crawling away from me….running away from me. It’s so entertaining and I love seeing their own little personalities start to develop. Brayen was just starting to sit and had a few teetering moments, but she was pretty steady most of the time! Another fun little thing about her is that she loves it when her mom sings The Itsy Bitsy Spider to her, the song totally calms her….maybe that will work even when she’s a teenager 😉
