♥ Christy & Evan : Wonderland

What felt like a foot of fluffy snow had fallen in the few days before Christy and Evan’s wedding and lucky for us, the snow stopped and the wind stopped blowing for their wedding day.  It was still cold outside, but the lack of wind helped to make it bearable outside.  The fresh snow made it somewhat of a winter wonderland outside and it was so worth the little bit of cold to get some gorgeous pictures!

We started out the day with a “first look” at Christy’s parents house and then off we went into the country to the yard where Christy keeps her horse.  I LOVE country yards!  It’s great how you can find so many different spots for pictures without having to go to far!  On a cold day like we had it was perfect!  We could even run inside to warm up when we needed to!

This wedding kind of marks the end of a chapter for me…this was the LAST wedding I had booked as B2 Photography and i’m so excited that from now on I’ll get to shoot all weddings with Kara through Jack and Ruby Photography!

Here’s a little peak into Christy and Evan’s very special day!

The sun was beaming through the evergreens – which had a fresh dusting of snow (or dump of snow?!) on them – making a gorgeous day for a gorgeous couple! What a lovely day with Christy and Evan this weekend!  Stay tuned for some more gorgeous photos of this brave couple who spent a few good hours outside yesterday, without one complaint I should add.

♥ Brad + Erin

One beautiful September day, not too long ago, Brad and Erin had a gorgeous wedding!!  We started out the day at the Inn at the Forks where Erin got all dolled up (how gorgeous was she??!) and made her grand entrance down the staircase to meet Brad for her first look.  It was quite the emotional moment and brought tears to both Erin and Brad’s eyes!  I LOVE when couples choose to have a first look!  After that we all headed off to Lower Fort Garry and spent the afternoon taking pictures of the beautiful couple and their wedding party and then off to Rembrant’s in Lockport to tie the knot!!

Brad and Erin, it was such a pleasure to spend your special day with you two!  Enjoy your sneak peek!!

Huge shout-out to Chris who was my trusty second shooter for the day!

♥ ….to love and to cherish

Jodie and Igor’s wedding was literally a bright spot in a dark, dreary and wet week.  Sometimes the week before a wedding I check the forecast every day to see what the wedding day might have in store, but for this wedding I was not worried at all!  Jodie was prepared for whatever the weather had in store for us with three indoor locations booked ‘just-in-case’.  We were happy not to have to use them since it was so gorgeous outside!!

The day started off with the girls getting ready at Jodie’s sisters home, Two Chicks and a Bag of Makeup were there to get the girls all camera ready and once everyone was all beautified the girls walked a couple short blocks to the church for the ceremony.  Jodie stayed back with her two sisters to make the walk together and it was such a sweet time walking to the church with them.  They were so excited!  After the ceremony it was photo time!  Everyone hopped into the school bus (appropriate since Igor’s a teacher!) and head off to all the locations that Jodie had picked out….each spot had special meaning to it….a theatre because Igor and Jodie are self proclaimed movie buffs, the school where Jodie’s mom told me her dad went to school and Jodie’s favourite bakery!  After that it was off to Fort Gibraltar for the reception and the party!

I have to say, I felt so lucky to work with Jodie and Igor on their wedding day!  They are two of the most gracious people, always quick to say thank-you and making sure everyone around them has whatever they may need.  Their wedding party was also so fun and easy to work with!

Thanks to my main man Chris who was my second shooter for the day!!  And special shout-out to our table at the reception (who was filled with some of my favourite past clients and co-workers!) who put up with me basically ignoring them and hiding behind my computer to work on the slide show during the first two courses of dinner!

On to some photos and click HERE for a slideshow!!!!

Jodie’s garter had some pieces of her grandma’s wedding dress sewn onto it.  How special!!

II LOVED the tank tops Jodie made for herself and all the girls in the wedding party!

Very excited on the walk to the church!

Don’t forget the SLIDESHOW!!

♥ Britney + Kevin: MARRIED!

A few weeks ago I hit the road for a trip to Morris on a hot Saturday morning for Britney and Kevin’s wedding.  It was such a beautiful day and so many things happened just the way I like them!  Britney and Kevin arranged to have a “first look” before the wedding ceremony meaning we got to spend hours together taking pictures before we had to be anywhere.  I got into the truck with Britney and Kevin and we hit the road to the country side to find some locations they had previously scouted.  It was such a dream to just drive around together and stop anywhere we felt like, plus Britney and Kevin had the chance to spend a couple hours together enjoying each other’s company without any hustle and bustle and busyness of the a wedding day around them.

After all the pictures everyone head out to Rosenort for the wedding ceremony.  I love ceremonies that bring out laughter and emotions and this one sure did!  There were a few laughs when Britney had to re-start her vows after getting a little flustered and there was also such a special moment when the pastors wife came up to pray for Britney and Kevin.  She prayed for a hedge of protection around their marriage and you could literally feel the love surrounding them in the room at that moment as all these people prayed for blessings upon the two of them.  It was a moment I won’t forget anytime soon!

So this is the first part of our day together….much more fun with the wedding party to come next week!  I had so much that I had to split this up!

♥ Kevin + Rebecca

Last weekend I was out in my hometown of Winkler to shoot Kevin and Rebecca’s wedding.  All week the forecast changed back and forth – rain, no rain, rain, no rain – but the morning of the wedding we all woke up to beautiful, sunny blue skies!  The day was so relaxed and fun!  I got to spend lots of time with just the bride and groom (my favourite) and then the wedding party joined us later in the day and they brought along lots of laughter (also my favourite).

Becs and Kevin – I am so happy for you two!  Thank-you so much for choosing me to be a part of your wedding day, it was such an honour(and so much FUN)!  Becs – I have so many memories with you and I’m so happy to add this one to the memory bank!  You were such a beautiful bride!

While Rebecca was getting ready Kevin showed up to pick up some forgotten items, Becs made him turn around and she promptly hid behind  chair. :)
