I had a dream that I could fly from the highest swing

When I went in search of a location close to home for these two cuties I found a gem that I knew they would love because it had 1. stuff to climb on and 2. rocks!  I remembered from our last session together that Ricky loves rocks and sure enough a few minutes into the session Ricky was asking me if we could take some pictures on the rocks!  These two have grown since the last time we saw them on the blog but they are still as CUTE as ever!  It’s really fun to watch these two interact together – when I was taking pictures of Maddie, Ricky was quick to jump in the shot and smother her with a big bear hug!  When I was taking pictures of Ricky, Maddie was behind me making faces and trying her best to make Ricky smile, but he was stoic and would not give into his sister antics :) And in the pictures of them together you can just see the sibling love that exists between these two….one of my very favourite pics from this session is one of the two of them  , Maddie is daydreamin’ and Ricky is giving her a great.big.hug.  Sibling bonds are so special :)

I’ve got no strings to hold me down

It hadn’t been too long since the last time I saw Reid so when he jumped out of the truck on the morning of the shoot we picked up right where we left off, chatting about his birthday party (he had a Winnipeg Jets cake) and what he watched on the drive in from Winkler (Shrek, and his favourite character is Pinocchio).  This little guy is ALWAYS entertaining and he did not disappoint on this morning!  I followed him around as he explored and “hung out” on the rails in the skywalk, we raced his Bumblebee Transfomer back and forth, we talked about his favourite shoes and all kinds of other fun stuff.  There is so much to love about Reid – his blue eyes, his dimples, his great big smile, his “cheese smile”, how he says “i’m a real boy!” just like pinocchio….he is so sweet and SO loving….he loves his little sister Beth, his mom and his dad oh.so.much and you can see it how he smiles at them and how he runs to them when he bumps his head and needs a kiss to make it all better.

Can’t wait for my next shoot with this fan to mark Beth’s six months!  Enjoy these pics of this blue eyed heartbreaker :)

Let the good times roll, leave your worry for another day

This weekend is back to shooting for me, back to shooting after a 4 week break, back to editing and blogging after break from that too.  It felt great and it was so needed after going non-stop for so long.  I thought I would have some profound blog post to write after my break but….I don’t.  I spent most of the time cleaning the house, packing, organizing and watching waaaay too much Dawson’s Creek so the only things I have to report back are: my house is clean! And Pacey and Joey were SO meant to be together.

All it took to get me itching to pick up the camera again was a conversation I had with a client last weekend.  I made a stop to drop some albums and the conversation turned to a summer shoot, a summer shoot in a lavender field she was planting, the wardrobe, the props….that was all I needed, I was inspired and ready to get back to work!  Summer is just around the corner and my mind is now bursting full of ideas of summer fun shoots!  Time to pick up the paint brush and paint my new chairs so I have everything all ready to go for my fabulous clients this summer!

Even though I haven’t been shooting over the past few weeks I do have a fresh shoot to leave with you, one I’ve been meaning to blog for so long but for some reason my fingers just never made it to they key board to get it done.  Now’s the time!  Take a look at a shoot I did this winter of three gorgeous little ladies :) I shot this session at the same time we did our Valentines Day shoot, but I had SO much to share from that one I didn’t want to overload my readers with TOO much cuteness.  I love this session, all the soft colours, the ruffles, the sparkles….all things feminine and girly.  ENJOY!

Over the city in an airplane, I can see everything below

Last time we saw Owen on the blog was in the summer and now he turned the big 2!  In the last six months since then he’s grown and possibly gotten even cuter, but one thing that has not changed is that he’s still running away from me!  I think the only thing on my side was the box of smarties I had in my Shootsac…I am not above bribes!!  ;)  Of course big sister Kenzie was along for the shoot too…showing off her blue eyes for the camera and telling me all about her favourite movies and dance classes!  Thanks for the fun times, enjoy the photos!

Annnnd, I think that means he’s done ;)

My funny valentine….you make me smile with my heart…

Shortly after I posted a teaser picture to this shoot my fabulous gal pal Erika sent me a message and it said “its funny that for as long as I’ve know you you dislike the ra ra surrounding Vday…yet you produce these uhMAZING styled shoots in honor of the occasion!!”  She’s right.  I do hate the ra ra surrounding Valentines Day and I still think it’s a silly Hallmark holiday…I think that it’s so much more special when Chris surprises me with cupcakes and a card on any day other than Valentines day…a day where he’s doing it because he loves me…not because he’s expected to do something.  BUT lets be honest I love pink. And hearts. And all things girly.  In short, I love all the pretty things that come out for Valentines day and I LOVE putting together “daydream” shoots like this, so I couldn’t let this opportunity slip by!  I called up three little models and begged them to pose for me….after a lot of begging (ok, not really) I had three little ladies travelling to the studio to meet me for this session.  Their mom packed up their bags with lots of fun clothes, new Chuck Taylors and the prettiest cookies i’ve ever seen (yup, she made them!) and we had a party!!!  Opps, I mean photoshoot, we had a photoshoot……but it sure felt like a party!

Today’s Valentines Day post is honour of the love between sisters!  Whether it’s your sister by birth, or your sister from another mister don’t forget to share the love today with the fabulous girls/women in your life!

Happy Love Day!!

P.S.  Don’t you just LOVE the paper heart garland??  After seeing paper garland on Pinterest I knew I HAD to have some…and when I imagined making it myself I usually imagined a disaster.  Lucky for me I found this lovely little store on Etsy called Yellow Bird,  Yellow Beard and Janee made me this perfect paper garland.  You MUST check out her store – paper garland makes a perfect added touch for photoshoots!

Partyin’ around the world, just want to dance…

At the beginning of January I met with Helga for a fun session to celebrate her turning 2!  We had a grand ‘ole party with lots of streamers and balloons!  Helga’s a pretty stylish little lady, she came with two pairs of shoes and  pair of leg warmers that I wold have been happy to take home if they had been in my size :)

Enjoy!!

LOVE this shot of her dancing :)

All that dancing had someone ready for a rest!

Snow can wait, I forgot my mittens. Wipe my nose, get my new boots on….

Sometimes you plan a session in your mind and then it turns out completely different when it’s show time.  Chantel and I brainstormed for an indoor spot for Jordyn’s four-year pictures because we were sure the beginning of January would be too friggid to be outside for any period of time.  We were wrong.  Chantel put her order in for the weather and a nice mild day greeted us when we arrived for the shoot!  We met at The Park Cafe inside the Qualico Family Centre at the Assiniboine Park enjoyed some hot chocolate, a few pages from Pinkalicious and some photos inside.  Then we bundled up and head outside for some photos of Jordyn and her sled (well actually Jack and Ruby’s sled…but don’t tell them!). The winter photos of Jordyn in her red toque and jacket are some of my favourite winter photos!  I had so much fun capturing Jordyn as she explored the forrest and spied for bunnies and squirrels!

Jordyn steals my heart again and again after each shoot I have with her, this lil lady has the personality to go along with the smiles and giggles you see in these photos!  Sometimes I have a hard time trying to pick which photos of Jordyn to blog because there are always so many with giggles, but there is also something so sweet and innocent about the photos of her when she’s a little bit more serious….those big brown eyes are just so perfect!

I just adore those curly pig-tails!

A little girl and her sled…

Lately i’m lovin’ pics of kids laughing so hard their eyes close!

“Look in here mom!”

“This way!!!”

♥ I want to turn this whole thing upside down

One last shoot to blog from a busy September!  I remember this shoot with my friends Evan, Jen and their son Torrin very well because it was soooo windy that day!  But not too windy to keep us from heading out to a shoot!  Sometimes those short and quick shoots turn out some of the BEST photos!  This one was definitely one of those short and sweet ones, I LOVE the family shots I got and Torrin was putting on such a show for the camera…doesn’t he have the most gorgeous brown eyes and megawatt smile?  Love. It.

♥ Hey Mr. DJ keep playin’ that song for me….

Last weekend I met up with Jamie, Tracy and Jack for Jack’s 18 month photo session.  Jack did a pretty good job keeping us all entertained with his dancing and boppin’ along to the music his parents brought along for him. Jack looooves music and as long as it was playing he was happy!  It was so CUTE!  We also took some time to play with blocks which turned out to be some of my favorite pictures from this session because he’s just playing and being a kid and you can tell he’s having a lot of fun :)

There’s so much to love about Jack…his gorgeous blue eyes, his sweet dance moves, how well he listens to his mom and dad (check him out putting all the blocks away!), his awesome style and of course all the cute faces he makes!  Enjoy these photos of the always adorable Mr. Jack!!

I love love love these two family photos, can’t you hear Jack giggling?!
