I’ve got no strings to hold me down

It hadn’t been too long since the last time I saw Reid so when he jumped out of the truck on the morning of the shoot we picked up right where we left off, chatting about his birthday party (he had a Winnipeg Jets cake) and what he watched on the drive in from Winkler (Shrek, and his favourite character is Pinocchio).  This little guy is ALWAYS entertaining and he did not disappoint on this morning!  I followed him around as he explored and “hung out” on the rails in the skywalk, we raced his Bumblebee Transfomer back and forth, we talked about his favourite shoes and all kinds of other fun stuff.  There is so much to love about Reid – his blue eyes, his dimples, his great big smile, his “cheese smile”, how he says “i’m a real boy!” just like pinocchio….he is so sweet and SO loving….he loves his little sister Beth, his mom and his dad oh.so.much and you can see it how he smiles at them and how he runs to them when he bumps his head and needs a kiss to make it all better.

Can’t wait for my next shoot with this fan to mark Beth’s six months!  Enjoy these pics of this blue eyed heartbreaker :)

Smile at me and then you take my hand, I hope this never ends.

When photographing babies, timing is everything. Lucky for us, with Emerson we had the timing just right!  When I arrived at her home she was at the tail end of her nap and woke up after I had been there for a few minutes.  We took some time at the beginning of her shoot while she was still waking up to take some pictures  with mom and dad.  I love taking pictures during those moments after a nap when kids will still sit and cuddle with mom and dad…precious!  Emerson was such a little star for the camera, couldn’t get enough of her gorgeous blue eyes!

Stacey was the winner of the contest I held this winter and when her and Devin told me the story about when she won I had to giggle, apparently there was jumping and screaming involved and Devin had though they won the lottery or something!  It was such a pleasure to meet a long time blog reader and now she can see her own little lady on the blog!!

It was such a pleasure to meet you three!  Hopefully we’ll run into you three this summer when we’re almost-neighbours :)

I’m going to paint a picture all about the colors I’ve been dreaming of…

I LOVE shooting in locations that are free of “extra” people around, everyone is free to let loose, relax and mom and dad can do those goofy dances that make their kids smile without anyone wondering “what is that guy doing?”.  The Millennium Library provided just that space for us on this Sunday morning for my session with Taylor!  It felt about ten times bigger that morning because it was empty and quiet besides our voices and Taylor’s squeals of happiness :)

Over the city in an airplane, I can see everything below

Last time we saw Owen on the blog was in the summer and now he turned the big 2!  In the last six months since then he’s grown and possibly gotten even cuter, but one thing that has not changed is that he’s still running away from me!  I think the only thing on my side was the box of smarties I had in my Shootsac…I am not above bribes!!  ;)  Of course big sister Kenzie was along for the shoot too…showing off her blue eyes for the camera and telling me all about her favourite movies and dance classes!  Thanks for the fun times, enjoy the photos!

Annnnd, I think that means he’s done ;)

♥ I want to turn this whole thing upside down

One last shoot to blog from a busy September!  I remember this shoot with my friends Evan, Jen and their son Torrin very well because it was soooo windy that day!  But not too windy to keep us from heading out to a shoot!  Sometimes those short and quick shoots turn out some of the BEST photos!  This one was definitely one of those short and sweet ones, I LOVE the family shots I got and Torrin was putting on such a show for the camera…doesn’t he have the most gorgeous brown eyes and megawatt smile?  Love. It.

♥ Hey Mr. DJ keep playin’ that song for me….

Last weekend I met up with Jamie, Tracy and Jack for Jack’s 18 month photo session.  Jack did a pretty good job keeping us all entertained with his dancing and boppin’ along to the music his parents brought along for him. Jack looooves music and as long as it was playing he was happy!  It was so CUTE!  We also took some time to play with blocks which turned out to be some of my favorite pictures from this session because he’s just playing and being a kid and you can tell he’s having a lot of fun :)

There’s so much to love about Jack…his gorgeous blue eyes, his sweet dance moves, how well he listens to his mom and dad (check him out putting all the blocks away!), his awesome style and of course all the cute faces he makes!  Enjoy these photos of the always adorable Mr. Jack!!

I love love love these two family photos, can’t you hear Jack giggling?!

♥ Give a little love, gimme just enough so that I can hang on tight

So when Chantel and I were emailing about this shoot she told me that Jack and Ruby were happiest in the morning and that would probably be the best time to shoot…she apologized that I would have to be up early and promised Starbucks.  I told her that Starbucks was not necessary…I am  a total morning person and i’m usually up at 7am on weekends anway….and aside from all that who cares about me, it’s all about the kids and it’s so important to schedule shoots when kids are at their happiest!!!  So I loaded up my vehicle the morning of the shoot and when I arrived, sure enough there was a pumpkin spiced latte waiting for me….and even though I said it wasn’t necessary, I wasn’t going to just leave it there because who doesn’t LOVE a pumpkin spiced latte??!!

So we started off the shoot at their home on a very yummy note, and if only the world had seen us all hovered around Jack and Ruby in the living room using all our best “sillies” to make them laugh and smile.  After we got some shots inside Jordyn and I went outside so she could show me her skills on the swings while Chantel and Dennis packed up the twins for our little outing to end off the shoot.  I should have Chantel order the weather for all my shoots because she ordered no snow until we had this shoot…and sure enough, it waiting until the next day to snow!  And I was SO happy because we got some great shots outside of the kiddos and the family!

I always have such a great time with this family…Jordyn is quite the entertainer – when we arrived on location for the second part of the shoot the field was FULL of geese…by the time we left…there wasn’t a goose in sight…thanks to Jordyn :)  Jack and Ruby are also starting to develop sweet little personalities too…Jack is so handsome and really knows to work his looks!  And Ruby…oh Ruby…she is just as sweet as sugar, with gorgeous eye lashes and when it comes out, a very cute little pouty lip :)

Enjoy!

Baby legs!!

Stylin’ little Jack with his tie and mohawk :)

There’s that cute little pouty lip!

I’m a sucker for those cute little baby cheeks!

What a cute little bear :)

♥ so thankful for the love that you keep bringing in my life

It was a blustery day when I met Autumn and her parents for some fall pics….but lucky for us we found a sheltered corner in Crescent Drive Park and it was quite comfortable out of the wind!  The last time we saw Autumn was in July for her first birthday and now a few months later she’s walking…err running a little faster, talking a little more but still just as cute as ever!  She LOVES the camera!  And not just having her picture taken, she was always running to me to take a look at the back of the camera to see herself and she loved pushing all the buttons…in a few years I might have a little competition from this little one!

♥ Sugar, Spice and Everything Nice!

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting up with the Jones family for some family photos in Assiniboine Forrest….or “the woods” as London called it ;)  Sweet little London and Hartley stole my heart at this shoot….I really think they are made of sugar because they are just as sweet as they look!  They showed me all different sides of their personalities!  The silies, the smiles and even the shy side..but that didn’t last for long and the giggles quickly game out again.  You can see how much these little girls love (and trust)  their parents as they run and leap into their parents arms squealing the whole way there!  There were tickles and kisses and hugs between the four of them…I couldn’t get enough of it!

Are those pigtails not the sweetest ones you’ve ever seen?  Love!

Love how London looks so posh in this picture, what a lady :)

There’s that little shy girl comin’ out….oh.so.cute!

“Let me see!”

Love this little behind the scenes moment….London’s getting her hair fixed, Hartley fixing her belt.

“Who’s dropping leaves on me?!”

“Mom! Stop!” te he.  I think this is one of my favorites of Hartley :)

We finished off with some pictures of mom and dad….but the girls were just not having that and decided to join in!

♥ Bold as Love

It was the perfect fall day when I met up with these three kiddos for some pictures!  But before we could head outside we had to take some time to play in Gabby’s adorable new pink and Paris themed bedroom!  It is a little girls paradise and she was happy to show me her make-up, her bracelets, her teddy bear and her unicorn!  After some time playing with the girl stuff we head out to the park and Alexander and Maxim had some fun showing off their baseball gear!  Finally we ended things off with some family shots….and what might be some of my favourite family shots of the fall!  I love all the giggles and fun they were having! They were singing songs, eating marshmallows, ticking each other and the laughs just kept on coming!

HUGE thank-you’s to mom, Lise, who painted the chairs for the shoot!  A month or so before the shoot Lise emailed me and asked if there was anything she could get ready or any props she could get for the shoot.  I’ve had this vision for such a long time of the three colored chris on a path and this was the perfect time to try it out!  I was SO excited and I am so happy with how it turned out!  A real team effort!

One more huge  THANK-YOU to Lise’s mom who came along on the shoot to dance around and act silly behind me!  She did such a great job and i’m sure you can tell that by the HUGE smiles on all three of the kids faces!

Enough with the chit-chat onto some photos of this adorable family!
