Cavell celebrated her birthday just before Christmas last year (that feels weird to type!) and we headed to the Millennium Library for the last B2 session of the year!  This little sweetie was so happy during the shoot and some of these giggles are thanks to the great help of her grandma who was over my shoulder dancing, singing, making faces….basically anything that would help to get a laugh out of Cavell!

In honour of turning the big ONE we hauled along some balloons and let Cavell play with them on the gorgeous staircase at the library…the sun was shining in all the gorgeous windows and it made for some gorgeous pictures!  Enjoy!!

I had the pleasure of shooting little Brynn and Adelynn before the holidays to mark their first year!  These two little ladies both have such different personalities but something they have in common is that they are oh.so.sweet!  Brynn was so playful during the shoot, totally working the camera!  Sometimes she would turn her back to the camera and then sneak a peak over her shoulder and show me those gorgeous blue eyes and a smile. Adelynn was also pretty smiley….in fact all it took to get her to show us her adorable was her mom counting 1…2…3!!! And she would burst into a fit of giggles!  I loved how when Adelynn got excited she would clap and clasp her hands in front of her…so cute!

What a cute way to start the new year on the blog!!! Happy 2012!!!

I’ve always loved all things royal.  When we were young my sister and I had Princess Diana paper dolls and oodles of picture books about the royals.  I remember where I was the evening I found out Diana had passed away and I remember crying like a baby as I watched her funeral on TV.  When news of the royal engagement broke I was so excited for a big televised royal even and ever since the wedding aired on TV my fascination with Princess Kate and Pippa has grown….exponentially.  The other day I joked to one of my friends that I was going to go buy Kate’s Zara Tulip Dress and then die my hair brown….then the next day she posted this cartoon from The Sun newspaper on my Facebook wall….so true, so true. Te he.

So today i’m sharing a few links with you so you too can know what Kate wore, where Pippa’s coat is from, and all other things Kate and Pippa!

Besides one ‘lil babe who will be entering the world in a couple weeks i’m all done shooting for 2011! WOW!  What. A. Year!!  Time so switch gears from editing and shooting to wrapping presents, drinking apple cider, watching movies and relaxing.

After popular demand (okay, only one friend has been bugging me about it…that make it sort of popular right?) Web Wendesday is back!!  My love for the internet has not subsided over the years, I just kind of forgot about doing these posts.  So my first post back is about website you’ve probably heard some buzz about in recent times because it seems as though EVERYONE is talking about Pinterest!

I’ve been addicted since the summer…it was on Pinterest where I first lay eyes on my dream Tory Burch boots and after that I was HOOKED!  I love Pinterest because it’s a way for me to keep all kinds of ideas organized without having hundreds of extra papers lying on my desk (believe me….it needs no more papers piling up on it!) and it eliminates those extra folders on my hard drive (i’m kind of the “empty space police” on my laptop…I hate having a full hard drive!).  I am even proud to say that i’ve completed a couple of Pinterest projects….one being a a special Christmas Standout I made for my sister!

I’ve been pinning and pinning and pinning for months and now i’m here to share it with YOU and invite you to pin and to take a glimpse at my ‘Pin Boards’ they are full of useful things for YOU and planning for your B2 Shoots!  I have boards for wardrobe ideas, suggestions of what you can bring along to your shoots, inspiration for wall galleries when you’re ready to display your images in your home and even colour palette ideas to help with picking colours for your birth annoucements or greetings!  FUN FUN FUN!

Happy Pinning!!

I’m sure you all remember this gorgeous baby bump from October, and now the baby from that bump has arrived!  I went to meet tiny little Zoey (all 6 lbs of her!) when she was just six days new and she showed me just how good at sleeping she is!  She tried to keep her eyes open for a little while, but after a good swaddled and a little holding from mom she was out!  And stayed that way for most of her shoot!  I had a relaxing morning with Kevin and Colleen, snapping pictures as Zoey slept and hearing all about their new adventures in parenthood….they were only 6 days into at the time but they handled everything like old pros!  Zoey was born with a gorgeous head of hair (that even shines a little bit red when the light hit it at just the right angle!) and i’m sure she’ll take after mom and be sporting adorable headbands in no time!

Thanks so much for having me Kevin and Colleen!  I can’t wait to watch Zoey grow and develop her own little personality!  Enjoy!!

One last shoot to blog from a busy September!  I remember this shoot with my friends Evan, Jen and their son Torrin very well because it was soooo windy that day!  But not too windy to keep us from heading out to a shoot!  Sometimes those short and quick shoots turn out some of the BEST photos!  This one was definitely one of those short and sweet ones, I LOVE the family shots I got and Torrin was putting on such a show for the camera…doesn’t he have the most gorgeous brown eyes and megawatt smile?  Love. It.

Last weekend I met up with Jamie, Tracy and Jack for Jack’s 18 month photo session.  Jack did a pretty good job keeping us all entertained with his dancing and boppin’ along to the music his parents brought along for him. Jack looooves music and as long as it was playing he was happy!  It was so CUTE!  We also took some time to play with blocks which turned out to be some of my favorite pictures from this session because he’s just playing and being a kid and you can tell he’s having a lot of fun

There’s so much to love about Jack…his gorgeous blue eyes, his sweet dance moves, how well he listens to his mom and dad (check him out putting all the blocks away!), his awesome style and of course all the cute faces he makes!  Enjoy these photos of the always adorable Mr. Jack!!

So when Chantel and I were emailing about this shoot she told me that Jack and Ruby were happiest in the morning and that would probably be the best time to shoot…she apologized that I would have to be up early and promised Starbucks.  I told her that Starbucks was not necessary…I am  a total morning person and i’m usually up at 7am on weekends anway….and aside from all that who cares about me, it’s all about the kids and it’s so important to schedule shoots when kids are at their happiest!!!  So I loaded up my vehicle the morning of the shoot and when I arrived, sure enough there was a pumpkin spiced latte waiting for me….and even though I said it wasn’t necessary, I wasn’t going to just leave it there because who doesn’t LOVE a pumpkin spiced latte??!!

So we started off the shoot at their home on a very yummy note, and if only the world had seen us all hovered around Jack and Ruby in the living room using all our best “sillies” to make them laugh and smile.  After we got some shots inside Jordyn and I went outside so she could show me her skills on the swings while Chantel and Dennis packed up the twins for our little outing to end off the shoot.  I should have Chantel order the weather for all my shoots because she ordered no snow until we had this shoot…and sure enough, it waiting until the next day to snow!  And I was SO happy because we got some great shots outside of the kiddos and the family!

I always have such a great time with this family…Jordyn is quite the entertainer – when we arrived on location for the second part of the shoot the field was FULL of geese…by the time we left…there wasn’t a goose in sight…thanks to Jordyn  Jack and Ruby are also starting to develop sweet little personalities too…Jack is so handsome and really knows to work his looks!  And Ruby…oh Ruby…she is just as sweet as sugar, with gorgeous eye lashes and when it comes out, a very cute little pouty lip

Last week I had a little afternoon date with Jana, Stef and little Ryleigh.  As the sunlight streamed in we sat in Ryleigh’s new room, it was so nice and cozy in there…the perfect temperature for a sleeping baby in her “birthday suit”.  It’s always fun doing a newborn shoot for a friend and watching them step into the role of “mom”…it seemed seamless for Jana as she sat in the chair and fed Ryleigh like a pro, changed her in record time and swaddled her nice and tight.  I treasure the moments I get to spend visiting with new moms and hearing the stories about how their new pride and joy came into the world….I especially loved the time I got to spend with Jana last week, she is such a fabulous mom to Ryleigh and I could almost see “rays of love” radiating from her and landing on sweet little Ryleigh.
