Where do I even begin this special post?  Many of you know Kara as an amazing photographer, the other half of Jack and Ruby, friend, sister, etc.  To me she is my fabulous business partner, a photographer I admire and my very special friend.  I adore her!  And many of you who know her can back me up on this one, she is one of the kindest souls I know.  And now…to top it all off, like a delicious red cherry on top, she’s a mom.

When Sarah was 8 days old I planned a little trip to go see Kara, Dwayne and tiny little Sarah, we had such a great afternoon, visiting and leisurely taking some newborn pictures of Sarah.  I am so thankful for that I time I had with them, it was such a special time to see this new little family interacting together, Kara and Dwayne tag-teaming diaper changes, Dwayne just staring at Sarah and saying over and over how cute she is and Kara soothing her when we wanted her to be sleeping.

Words can’t describe how much I adore this little girl already….all the love I have for Kara just spills right on over to Sarah.  I know oodles and oodles of people out there will agree with me when I gush…..isn’t she sooooooooooo cute?!  I couldn’t stop the close-ups of this little sweetheart!  Perfect lips, perfect nose, perfect feet and check out those perfect ears!

The day of Lyla’s newborn session it was snowing quite hard….it was “love snow” as I like to call it….the kind of snow that falls in the most romantic part of a movie, big soft flakes and it almost looks like the flakes are falling in slow motion.  But we were so cozy and toasty warm inside the home of Jaclyn and Kevin, catching so many special moments with their brand new baby girl and the “love snow” falling outside the picture window behind us.

Lyla’s arrival was a little bit of a surprise to her parents, arriving a whole month early!  I went to go see her when she was just over two weeks old and she was still quite a bit smaller than most of the newborns I see at 7 days old!  As I was shooting the pictures Jaclyn and Kevin told me the story about the day she was born and the visiting went on through the rest of the session.  I must say, I love going to new clients homes and just chatting away like we’re old friends….it was such a pleasure spending time with this new little family of 3!

How cute is Lyla?  All that hair, those perfect little lips and nose that I loooove!  So sweet!  I love little girls!

A couple weeks ago I went over to meet little Sidney Grant.  He made his entrance into this world a week early – probably to make sure he got to enjoy some of this gorgeous fall weather he knew we’d be having!  We had a relaxed morning taking shots of Sidney while big sis Olivia watched Dora and Barney and came and showered Sidney with kisses every once and while.  What a sweet little family of four!

Everytime I go to photograph this lovely family I am always entertained….and now there’s one more little person keeping me entertained!  Meet baby Maxim!  What a sweetheart!  His big brother and sister love him SO much!  Alexander hardly wanted to leave his side when we were taking pictures of him!

After Max had his moment to shine in front of the camera we went to a nearby park and got some pictures of the whole family.  It seems like Alexander and Gabrielle have grown up so much since the last time I saw them, or maybe it’s because I see them taking care of their new little brother so well!  Enjoy this loooong post

Baby Jack made his grand entrance into the world on May 14 and I was lucky enough to go and meet him when he was 9 days old!  He is such a sweet little boy, loved and adored by so many people! During his shoot Jack was the perfect amount of sleepy and the perfect amount of awake!  It was so cute at the beginning when his eyes were so heavy and he was oh so comfy in mom and dad’s arms.  Congrats Jamie and Tracy!!  Thank-you for letting come photograph this special time for you guys!  And thanks for keeping Birger outside while I was over

Everybody’s talkin’ about cute little Owen, his cute little head of hair, his gorgeous blue eyes and what a little star he was on the day of his very first photoshoot!  It was such a pleasure to visit with him and his parents this past weekend….don’t they make a gorgeous little fam?!  I think so!!

This family has been on the blog quite frequently in the past couple months, 18 month photos of Mackenzie, maternity photos of Kelly and now finally newborn photos!!  Kelly, Greg and big sister Mackenzie welcomed Owen into their family on Valentines day!  And I got to go and meet him when he was just 7 days old!  FRESH!!  He was so sweet and so was proud big sister Mackenzie.  When Kelly was burping him after a feed Mackenzie helped by giving him a few pats on his back, and then gave her mom a few pats on her back and then gave me a few pats on my back! What a girl!

We took a photo just like this when Mackenzie was a newborn so of course we had to take it again with Owen!  Lets just say it’s a lot easier when you don’t have to keep a 20 month old from accidentally colliding with a newborn! He he.

Well, Brayden kept everyone waiting but he finally made his arrival on January 26!  More of his shoot coming next week!

I am always so amazed and humbled when people hire me to take their newborn pictures.  What an honor to be invited into a clients home to share these very special moments with them.  This photoshoot was extra special for me though, Theressa (mom) and I go way back, we went to the same school starting in kindergarten and we were BFFs in junior high.  It’s so nice how when you get older you can be reconnected through things like babies and photoshoots!  Before the photoshoot I found a binder I had kept with all the notes Theressa and I wrote to each other in junior high, yes NOTES!  Before the days of text messages and emails.  Sometimes we were sitting close enough to pass them to each other and sometimes we hide them in places in the classroom (behind the box to collect the shavings from the pencil sharpener) for the other to go and retrieve.  We were so good at it we never got caught!  And if we did, we were safe, because the notes were in code!  Well years and years have passed since then and now Theressa has her own little girl!  And some day she’ll be the one writing notes (or sending texts) in code about the boy she has a crush on (a long long long time from now, te he)!  It was so much fun to see these two interact with little Addison.  Everyone was so relaxed during the shoot and you could just feel the love and pride oozing out of them for their little (VERY little!) daughter.  Addison did SO well during her first photoshoot, she slept most of the time and could always be calmed down with a little suck on mom or dad’s pinky.

Well, enough of my rambling….congrats Tom and Theressa, your little Addison is a doll!  Thank-you so much for letting me capture these special moments for you!
