Cavell celebrated her birthday just before Christmas last year (that feels weird to type!) and we headed to the Millennium Library for the last B2 session of the year!  This little sweetie was so happy during the shoot and some of these giggles are thanks to the great help of her grandma who was over my shoulder dancing, singing, making faces….basically anything that would help to get a laugh out of Cavell!

In honour of turning the big ONE we hauled along some balloons and let Cavell play with them on the gorgeous staircase at the library…the sun was shining in all the gorgeous windows and it made for some gorgeous pictures!  Enjoy!!

I had the pleasure of shooting little Brynn and Adelynn before the holidays to mark their first year!  These two little ladies both have such different personalities but something they have in common is that they are oh.so.sweet!  Brynn was so playful during the shoot, totally working the camera!  Sometimes she would turn her back to the camera and then sneak a peak over her shoulder and show me those gorgeous blue eyes and a smile. Adelynn was also pretty smiley….in fact all it took to get her to show us her adorable was her mom counting 1…2…3!!! And she would burst into a fit of giggles!  I loved how when Adelynn got excited she would clap and clasp her hands in front of her…so cute!

What a cute way to start the new year on the blog!!! Happy 2012!!!

Besides one ‘lil babe who will be entering the world in a couple weeks i’m all done shooting for 2011! WOW!  What. A. Year!!  Time so switch gears from editing and shooting to wrapping presents, drinking apple cider, watching movies and relaxing.

Thanks to YOU all my readers, fans, friends and family who continually came back to the blog this year to check out what I was up to and for leaving all your lovely little notes.

Last weekend I met up with Jamie, Tracy and Jack for Jack’s 18 month photo session.  Jack did a pretty good job keeping us all entertained with his dancing and boppin’ along to the music his parents brought along for him. Jack looooves music and as long as it was playing he was happy!  It was so CUTE!  We also took some time to play with blocks which turned out to be some of my favorite pictures from this session because he’s just playing and being a kid and you can tell he’s having a lot of fun

There’s so much to love about Jack…his gorgeous blue eyes, his sweet dance moves, how well he listens to his mom and dad (check him out putting all the blocks away!), his awesome style and of course all the cute faces he makes!  Enjoy these photos of the always adorable Mr. Jack!!

It was the perfect fall day when I met up with these three kiddos for some pictures!  But before we could head outside we had to take some time to play in Gabby’s adorable new pink and Paris themed bedroom!  It is a little girls paradise and she was happy to show me her make-up, her bracelets, her teddy bear and her unicorn!  After some time playing with the girl stuff we head out to the park and Alexander and Maxim had some fun showing off their baseball gear!  Finally we ended things off with some family shots….and what might be some of my favourite family shots of the fall!  I love all the giggles and fun they were having! They were singing songs, eating marshmallows, ticking each other and the laughs just kept on coming!

HUGE thank-you’s to mom, Lise, who painted the chairs for the shoot!  A month or so before the shoot Lise emailed me and asked if there was anything she could get ready or any props she could get for the shoot.  I’ve had this vision for such a long time of the three colored chris on a path and this was the perfect time to try it out!  I was SO excited and I am so happy with how it turned out!  A real team effort!

One more huge  THANK-YOU to Lise’s mom who came along on the shoot to dance around and act silly behind me!  She did such a great job and i’m sure you can tell that by the HUGE smiles on all three of the kids faces!

I met up with Tiffany and Geoff and their sweet little girls a couple weeks ago for some fun family photos!  Little Piper kept me on my toes! Halle was full of smiles and Willow fell asleep!!

Since the last time we saw this family they’ve added another member!!  Jonah a whole year older and a whole year grown up…he stepped out of the van and was talking my ear off letting me know…he had a juice box and treats in the van if he was good at the shoot (yes folks, bribes work!).  And yup, he sure was good during the session!  And so was his sweet little sister Caris!  Who I heard was a serious little lady but we did manage to get some smiles from her!  How jealous are you of her amazing eye lashes??

This is probably one of my favorite shots from the session, I love how Jonah is holding Caris’s hand and I LOVE how Pam is looking at Bryan.

I had to include this cute outtake!  Pam was ticking Caris with that long piece of grass and apparently it was bugging Jonah he he.

Well there’s not much I can say about this little family that I haven’t said already.  I gush regularly about how much I love Kara on here, on the Jack and Ruby blog and on Facebook…but i’m a firm believer that you can never tell someone you love them too much.  Kara and I live about an hour and fifty seven minutes apart….but who’s timing?  The distance makes it hard to do “stuff” for Kara when she needs it….some days I would love to just stop by her house and take Sarah for a walk or just play with her so Kara can get done whatever she needs…you know just “helpful stuff”.  But lets face it, I don’t have a maternal bone in my body so she probably wouldn’t even want to send Sarah with me.  But…pictures, that I can do.  So while I can’t be in Winkler to do “helpful stuff” I can capture for her the love I see in their little family.  I can capture those moments of snuggling, laughing, peeking and picking out boogers. te he.

There were SO many family pictures I was in love with from this shoot, the kind that make you smile when you look at them.  The kind that you can hear laughing when you look at them.  REAL family moments.  Pictures like this are why I la-la-la-love family photos!!!

About a week before this shoot I talked to Cavell’s dad and he told me “Cavell’s in training camp” WHAT? “Cavell’s in training camp for sitting” and then he reported to me that she was very close to sitting and would sometimes do it for a few seconds and then slowly start to fall forward.  Well come Saturday morning, Cavell’s training camp had paid off and she sat like a pro for her pictures, I mean, just look at her posture!  She sits better than most of us do!  :)

It’s no secret I love six month sessions. I mean I really love them – love love love them.  What’s not to love?  Babies on their tummy’s, babies on their back, babies sitting, snuggling with mom and dad….all good stuff and the whole time they’re never running away from my camera…JOY!  Cavell just turned 6 months and she is 100% sweet…like melt your heart sweet!  Her perfect big, round eyes, her perfect lips, her slightly red hair, the camera just loves this girl!  And so do her mom and dad!  I left this session with such a huge smile on my face because I felt so lucky to capture this family and give them memories to hang onto that capture them at this special moment in time with their baby girl.  I really hope these pictures show the love I saw between all of them at the shoot!

I love this “outtake” Sometimes when concentrating on what might be a perfect family picture the most real moments happen, and those are my favorite, this is what I call a perfect family picture….I can hear giggles!!

And of course little Miss Mackenzie needed to get in on some of the photo action too!
